Anyhoo, today the Beau Rivage reopens on the Mississippi Gulf Coast that was actually hit by the storm. Five hundred fifty million dollars and one year was what it took to get back up and running. Yea Capitalism! Since some of the folks on the coast are still struggling, I hope you don't take this the wrong way.
New Orleans and the State of Louisiana can kiss my ass. Y'all are a bunch of whiny crybabies that deserve everything that you get. Hey, reelecting Nagin was a G R E A T idea.
And in case you are wondering, the picture above is from Long Beach, Mississippi which was twenty miles East of the hurricane's eye. The picture was taken one week after the storm. I refuse to show the pictures that I have of Waveland. New Orleans was sixty-two miles West of the storm and experienced a whopping eighty mile an hour gust of wind. Damn, wonder what would have happened had New Orleans gotten hit by a hurricane? And for all of y'all that know absolutely nothing about hurricanes, like the major television networks, the West is the good side.
Folks can keep on believing that Katrina just jumped all over poor New Orleans, but the incompetence of local officials and the failure of a contractor in Louisiana to do his damn job, caused all the damage there. HERE is a link to photos of the REAL hurricane damaged areas. So, please, please, please quit talking about New Orleans, please?
