There is a new bill plodding its way through the Mississippi state house. This bill shall require a prescription to buy over the counter cold medication. No, I have NOT read the bill, NO I am not going to read the bill, YES, it IS a stupid bill.
You see, supply and demand works. In order to create a demand, a product has to first be invented. Once that product is invented and the demand for the new product is established, the demand is the driving force for further supply.
The above statement is not meant to imply that the DEMAND or CONSUMPTION is the driving force of the economy, it is simply stating that once something is invented, it can never be uninvented. The production is ALWAYS the driving force in the economy.
However...
Once the invention or service has been produced for the first time, the demand is what drives the production. PROFIT is the motive for production. The risk of the unknown demand is already satisfied after the demand is determined from the initial production. How long this period lasts is unknown. The risk of producing a product that no one wants is abated. At that point, the only way to end PRODUCTION is reduce or eliminate DEMAND.
Crystal methamphetamine is NOT the only product that is affected by this FACT. Every product is affected by this FACT. Take for instance the Sony Betamax video system. With the battle satisfied between Beta and VHS, the demand for Beta was reduced to the eventual point of zero.
What does this mean? Well, crystal has been invented and it is in demand. The only way to get rid of it is A) invent something BETTER or B) destroy demand. Attacking the production shall never work. The production facility shall just move to a more friendly production area, but continue the SUPPLY, they will. This works the same way with marijuana, pain pills, cocaine, alcohol, CRTs, electro-shock therapy, sharpened sticks as weapons, flint and steel, and the list is as long as the list of everything.
How do you get rid of the crystal demand? Well, the ANSWER is that you make it so painful and hideous to use the drug as to reduce the demand to ZERO. If you have no qualms about what you want to accomplish, then make the steps to accomplish that ends. This ideology works with everything as well. It is working exceedingly well with cigarettes. Oddly, the government tied cigarette taxes to children's health. Seems kinda counter-productive to having healthy children, but what the Hell do I know, I am not a moron that thinks you can raise MORE money by making something more expensive and exponentially reducing demand.
If you want the crystal usage to stop NOW, put to death one person for using crystal. I guarantee that the behavior shall abate immediately. If it doesn't stop completely, execute another. Continue this tactic until usage is ZERO. Granted, this method seems harsh, but making someone go to the doctor to get some Contac seems to be the dumbest thing in the world to me.
As a disclaimer, this law shall never affect me ever. I never use these medications, but I am pretty damn sick of the idiotic laws that the people of lesser intelligence promote trying not to offend anyone and still never accomplishing anything.
Let's call MY particular method of thinking, "The Nuclear Option," mmmkay?
Speaking of which, Democrats are poised to do pretty much the very same thing with government OWNED medical services. They are going to go against everything the electors desire for the sole purpose of keeping the electors in line. Of course, the Left says that "healthcare" is a right. The Left has no clue what a RIGHT even is.
So, we must come to the conclusion that Democrats want everyone to die with the push toward passing government OWNED "healthcare." You know what else Democrats want?
Teenagers and black folks to die first. Every single time the Democrats pass a minimum wage increase, people become unemployed. Every. Single. Time. Without. Fail. What does that tell you? That they HATE children and black folks. Yes, they hate white folks, too, but just not as much as the others.
At some point, we, the normal people, are going to have to draw a battle line. And seriously not surrender. To the very end.
Dammit, I am sick to death of talking about these things. If you do not know it by now, Hell I can't do anything more.
Please take the time to comment.

By the way, to reduce murders IMMEDIATELY, start putting those folks to death that are sitting on death row. NOW.
Remember, Nuclear Option.
I am assuming that the bill is talking about pseudoephedrine, which, for folks that don't know, is sudafed. We have had that law in place in Kentucky for quite some time, and it is a royal pain in the patootie. The new stuff (that you don't have to sign your first born away at the pharmacy counter to get) that they have come out with doesn't do a dang thing to clear the sinuses and costs WAYYYY more. Instead of going to Walgreen's and grabbing a generic box of sudafed for $1.99, now it costs a good 5 bucks for the new formulation, or you can get a prescription of the old stuff for 20 bucks.
Oh, and did the law make a huge reduction in people making dope? NOPE.
I cannot imagine that it did one single thing to reduce the number of people making it. Can't you buy that shit online, you know BECAUSE it is OTC?
I may be corrected if I'm wrong, but I think Oklahoma was the first state to pass such a law over the pseudoephedrine. Supposedly it drastically reduced the number of operating meth labs in the state, which has led to other states following suit. Of course, the meth makers had the option to simply move across the state lines or use more stealth in choosing their lab location. Or I think, they moved to buying the junk online - or found other avenues, because meth heads can be pretty crafty when they need their dope.
The way it works here is that you can buy cold medicine but it's behind the counter and you have to sign a log indicating that you bought some, the amount, etc. etc. which is a big freakin' hassle so I just don't buy it.
The OK legislature has introduced bills in the past about enacting the death penalty on drug crimes, but according to my sources, it is "unconstitutional", per the federal government to use the death penalty for crimes other then murder. Thing is, you don't have to actually be THE MURDERER, you can just be involved in some way. I guess the same "unconstitutional" decree will stop the bill to use the death penalty on those who have multiple convictions where their victims are children.
So it might seem, according to government logic, that its more important to keep children away from cigarettes than it is to keep them from being the victim of a child molester?
Dunno what Colorado is doing, if anything productive just now; but the libtards in DC are doing their best to take control of hellthscare, expand minority dependence, and kill more kids.
That's simply what libtards do.
Shall I buy you some Sudafed h'yar, and send it, afore they make it, like, y'know, thinking conservative on a college campus?
Staci, currently in Mississippi, you have to sign for it. Now they are trying to make it where you have to get a prescription, so obviously the signing for it is not working here. Last year was the first year that meth arrests exceeded coke arrests. Seems like the further regulating is not working. I think they need to try it my way, instead.
Skunkfeathers, I have never taken a cold tablet in my life, so no problems here. I have plenty of friends that do though. I wonder what effect this will have on the cost of HEALTHCARE?
Seriously, it is like the Democrats just want us to riot in the streets. Yes, Mississippi is overwhelmingly Democrat, but y'all should have known that because of the Klan past.
I don't take cold pills, either. But, my wife and kids do. I always buy the behind the counter stuff, because the crap on the shelf is just that...
The problem with signing for the stuff is that I could literally go to 15 pharmacies within 3 blocks of each other, and get all I want.
I understand the motivation behind this, but it will not work...and will only make it tougher on the consumer. Heck, it takes an act of congress to even get a doctor's appointment these days...and there are very few GPs as it is.
It's ridiculous.
Andy, yep, the Democrats are doing all they can to make our state be even worse than they have already made it.
AND LOOKIE! Our moronic troll, Thinking Meat, is back to linking my posts. Please click his link, he needs the traffic.
Nyuk! That's a lovely photo of you, Paul! Nice comment you left over there, too.
Andy, obviously he is having trouble getting people to visit his site. Should I play along?
Hey Dude...got no advice on that one. I don't know your tolerance for stoopid.
My tolerance for stupid obviously has no limit. I do read the news daily.
"Thinking Meat"...if libtard, is it 2 or 3 brain cells?
PM,
Uh wouldn't the nuclear option be alittle more destructive like drug testing everybody in the US and killing all those who fail the drug tests (more than one to verify).
That would see more inline with the destructive capacity of a nuclear weapon. One day X amount of ppl are in the US and a short time after drug testing is completed Y remain, with Y << X.
Roderick
Roderick, I am not necessarily opposed to this idea. However, it makes me cringe a little.
